ABOUT US

Our Ensemble
Established in 1965, Musica Sacra welcomes participants across many faith traditions from all over the tri-state area, who share a passion for performing sacred choral masterworks in sacred spaces. Our regular season concerts feature a live orchestra of professional musicians, and are always free of charge and open to the public.
Through our Education Outreach programs, we are honored to to sing with young artists from such notable institutions as the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, Xavier University, St. Xavier High School, and others.
Our Performances
Under the baton of our second Music Director, L. Brett Scott, Musica Sacra performs well-known masterworks of sacred choral literature as well as lesser-known composers, including women and persons of color. Recent concerts have included pieces by Marianna Martines and José Maurício Nunes Garcia, both of whom were contemporaries of Mozart & Haydn and well-respected composers of the era in their own right. In honor of our 60th anniversary season, we commissioned a new work by award-winning composer, Jessica French, performed for the first time at our Fall Concert on October 26, 2025.
